If you have an existing character that you would like to bring to life, keep reading! Otherwise, if you would like us to draw your idea and bring it to life, go to the
artistic liberty page!
Be sure to read this page in full before submitting anything.
Before you begin...
Before submitting an inquiry, you'll need to make sure you know what you're looking for. Check out the
pricing page to get a sense of the terminology and our various offerings.
You'll also need a SFW and fursuit-friendly reference sheet. This is a reference sheet that is unshaded, digital, and clearly shows at least both the front and the back of the character in a front-on and back-on view. A side view is optional but helps us a lot!
If you don't have a reference sheet, reach out to us! We are happy to make you one for an additional cost.
Getting a Quote
Once you've decided on your character, type of fursuit, and any options or add-ons, it's time to get a quote!
The quote form is located at the bottom of this page. Be sure to read everything before getting one! It is required to apply for a commission. They are valid for 90 days.
A quote is the exact cost of your commission, minus any shipping costs. Getting a quote doesn't mean you're committed to the commission, you are more than welcome to get one if you are simply curious. Getting a quote also does not guarantee a commission slot from us.
We will get back to you as soon as we can.
Applying for the Commission
Although our quotes are open almost entirely year-round, we only open for new projects a few times a year. We only take on a limited number of projects at a time to keep wait times low.
We will announce when our commissions are open on our social media pages, but we also will announce our openings on the front page of our website!
Unlike the quote form, the commission application is binding if you are accepted. This means you must pay, as per the
terms of service.
The TOS is very important and you must read it thoroughly.
We will contact the accepted applicants once we decide what projects to take on. Once all slots are confirmed, we will contact everyone else to encourage them to apply again next time.
What happens after getting accepted?
Suppose your project was chosen... YAY! You're getting a Magic Mustelids fursuit!
First do a little celebratory dance! Then, send us the 50% non-refundable deposit to confirm your slot. Once you are confirmed, you will be added to our Trello queue, invited to our client group chat on Telegram, we will begin sourcing materials, and we will create an annotated concept sheet that portrays your character in our style. You'll need to supply us with your measurements, as well as a duct tape dummy (DTD) and a pair of shoes if you are commissioning a fullsuit.
You have control over how public you'd like the WIP photos to be. Upon request, we can either only send photos to you, or keep the fursuit a complete surprise and either send photos to a trusted friend/partner, or no one at all.
All of our heads are 3D modelled and printed. Unless requested otherwise, you will get plenty of screenshots of your model, and drawovers to visualize how the final head will look.
Shipping time!
Once your fursuit is finished, it's time for it to get shipped to you! If you are local to the New England area, you may arrange the fursuit to be picked up from us. Otherwise we will take portfolio photos, package the suit up, and ship it insured via USPS. We will ask if you would like signature confirmation to avoid package theft. Shipping costs and import fees are not included by Magic Mustelids.
IT'S HERE!
YAY! Your brand-new Magic Mustelids fursuit is in your hands! We hope you enjoy it for many years!
