Terms of Service

Please take the time to read through these Terms of Service before submitting a fursuit inquiry, thanks! By agreeing to these terms, you acknowledge you have read and understand the terms below. Mentions of "you, your, yours, yourself" refer to the client interested in commissioning Magic Mustelids. The term "fursuit" refers to the items the client is receiving or has received from Magic Mustelids.

Payment

All prices are in USD. Payments are highly preferred to be sent via Zelle or a bank transfer. Magic Mustelids does not accept crypto as payment, if you attempt to pay with crypto Magic Mustelids will refund you in full and cancel your commission. Full upfront payment is preferred, but payment plans may be discussed between you and Magic Mustelids. If a payment plan is the route chosen, a minimum of 50% of the total cost will need to be paid up front, and the rest paid before the fursuit is shipped. Magic Mustelids requires the initial deposit within one week of your commission being accepted. If you decide to pay through a payment plan, you are agreeing to pay for your fursuit on a schedule that will be agreed upon between you and Magic Mustelids. You must alert Magic Mustelids if your scheduled payment must be delayed. If you suddenly stop your scheduled payments without notice, Magic Mustelids will attempt to contact you through your preferred methods of contact.

Refunds

Refunds are not available after a fursuit is fully complete. If Magic Mustelids cancels the commission, you will receive a full refund, including the original deposit. The fursuit will be refurbished into a different character and sold or auctioned off as a premade. Magic Mustelids reserve the right to cancel any commission for any reason. If you decide to request a refund, the amount of money refunded, if any, will depend on how complete the construction of the fursuit is. This is a case-by-case situation and will be up to Magic Mustelids discretion. If Magic Mustelids does not hear from you after two months, any time after the initial payment is made and before the fursuit has been handed off to the post office for shipping, the commission will be considered abandoned. If this occurs, the fursuit will be refurbished into a different character and sold or auctioned off as a premade. Everything but the 50% deposit will be refunded.

Allergies

While Magic Mustelids is currently located in a pet-free and smoke-free environment, this may change in the future. Please do not commission Magic Mustelids if you have any pet allergens that you cannot handle.

Warranty and Repairs

All fursuits automatically come with a 60-day warranty, where Magic Mustelids will repair any damages for only the cost of shipping and import/customs fees. The 60-day warranty begins the day the fursuit is successfully shipped to your residence. Anything past the 60-day mark will come with a fee. Please note that your fursuit may have some imperfections or flaws, as each fursuit is a handmade item. Popped seams or untrimmed threads are to be expected, but these are covered under warranty and Magic Mustelids will repair them and/or provide resources on how to repair minor damages. Intentional damage such as poking out eye mesh or ripping up parts is not covered under warranty. Magic Mustelids reserves the right to determine what damage is considered under warranty or not. Refurbishments or modifications will also come with a fee, depending on the size of the project. Refurbishments or modifications are not included in the 60-day warranty. Your fursuit must be clean before being sent back, otherwise a $100 cleaning fee will be charged. Things such as excessive dirt, mud, and bodily fluids will be considered dirty; however Magic Mustelids reserves the right to determine if a fursuit is clean. This cleaning fee applies even if the fursuit is still within warranty.

References

A clear, SFW, 2+ view reference sheet must be provided. Magic Mustelids only accepts reference sheets that are 2D and drawn by a human. If you do not have a reference sheet, Magic Mustelids can draw you a two-view symmetrical reference sheet for $100. Artistic liberty fursuits do not require a reference sheet. For artistic liberty commissions, you give Magic Mustelids a species and theme/colors to work from, and Magic Mustelids will create the design of the character and fursuit.

Minor and Age Policy

All clients must be at least 18 years old. Magic Mustelids do not work with parents or guardians. Magic Mustelids has a zero-tolerance policy towards minors lying about their age or stealing others' cash or cards to purchase a fursuit. At Magic Mustelids discretion, Magic Mustelids may ask for your photo ID to verify your age. The ID provided must match the name provided. The photo, date of birth, and name must be clearly visible and legible; any other information can be censored out. This will not be seen by anyone apart from Magic Mustelids and will not be saved. Any minors in violation of this policy will be blacklisted from all future commissions.

Shipping

Magic Mustelids is based in the northeastern United States. Magic Mustelids can ship to almost any part of the globe, however the client must cover the shipping, import, and customs costs. All packages are shipped with insurance, and signature confirmation can be added upon request. Magic Mustelids will not ship the fursuit until all payments are completed.

Deadlines

Magic Mustelids is run by two full-time college students, and Magic Mustelids does not work with deadlines under a year. Magic Mustelids does not do rush orders. Fursuits will still be finished in a timely manner with regular updates.

DTDs

A duct tape dummy (DTD) is required for full fursuits and 3/4 fursuits. The client is responsible for materials costs, shipping costs, and customs fees for the DTD. The DTD must be properly made, if the DTD is unusable Magic Mustelids will request a new one to be sent. Magic Mustelids can provide resources on how you can make a DTD. If a DTD absolutely cannot be made, such as if you have a disability, other methods may be discussed but Magic Mustelids cannot guarantee the fit will be perfect. For commissions that include bodysuits, the client must send a pair of comfortable shoes in their size. Magic Mustelids recommends shoes that are easy to slip on. The client is responsible for the cost of purchasing and shipping the shoes.

WIPs

Magic Mustelids will provide regular work-in-progress (WIP) pictures and updates to you in private. Magic Mustelids may request permission to upload WIP and finished photos and videos to social platforms. Magic Mustelids will not upload any photos or videos if you decline this request. If you would like the suit to be a surprise, Magic Mustelids can post WIP and finished photos after the suit is in your possession.

Free Stuff and Discounts

Magic Mustelids does not offer any free products outside of any giveaway posts that may be uploaded to a Magic Mustelids social page. Magic Mustelids does not offer any discounts unless otherwise stated. Magic Mustelids does not barter.

Please Note

Fursuiting, especially in a full fursuit, will impair your vision, hearing, ability to move, dexterity, and will attract attention from others. Fursuits can get very hot very quickly and you will sweat while wearing one. It is recommended to try on a friend's fursuit before getting your own. Remember to disinfect your fursuit after each use. Make sure to drink plenty of water while fursuiting and take regular heat breaks whenever you begin to feel uncomfortable. Magic Mustelids highly recommends bringing a friend out of suit with you to assist you. Fursuits do not last forever, but if you take good care of yours, it will last many years. Wearing a fursuit comes at a risk. Magic Mustelids is not responsible for any injuries that may occur such as falls, overheating, or other medical conditions. Please know your limits! Magic Mustelids is not responsible and does not endorse the actions of any clients.
